| Main PMRefrigeration Tool page Psychrometric inputs and reports | |||
| The first step is to enter your data on this single simple screen. DB, plus either WB or RH, plus CFM, for each state desired. Altitude is entered on another screen, and is applied in all calculations. | |
Then select a calculation from the drop-down list | ![]() |
The State point report |
| Each state point has its own report drop-down, so you have all three full reports available concurrently. The psychrometric report looks like this, for each state point : | |||

The Mixing process |
| The mixing process creates a special report set, which shows not only the full 'mixed' state with full report as above, but also a Process Report showing the effect on the system, in terms of 'What impact does the difference between states 1 and 2 have on the system loads ?' | |||
| For example, in a cooling system with 1100 CFM RA, plus 100 CFM OA intake ( as in the screen shot at the top of this page ), how much does that OA increase the system load ? Run the 'Mix' process with one click for this set of reports. | |||
The Mixing Report tells you the net effect on the system of the difference between the RA in state 1, and the OA in state 2. In this example, an added 0.63 tons of cooling is needed for this 100 CFM of OA ( as opposed to 'if the OA condition were the same as the RA condition' ). In other words, the true system load of the OA. Of course, a full detail State Point Report is also created at the same time for the Mixed point, State 3.
Now calculate the same RA, but with 100 CFM of cold winter OA, to see that you will have gained 0.8 tons of free cooling ( or, to look at the flip side, that you need 2.8 KWH to maintain temperature with this 100 CFM ventilation, 3,668 BTUH of which needs to be humidification if you want to maintain 50 % RH inside ).
The Deltas report |
Given a typical A/C system RA as at left, and a typical SA ( which will be at saturation , as it's right off the coil ), in addition to the state point reports for each, the Deltas process report will be created for any points that have equal CFM ( mass flow ).
